How Esports Betting Works
Esports betting means placing money on the outcome of competitive video game matches. Just like cricket or football, two teams or players face off and you place a bet based on your analysis. The difference is that matches happen on a screen, not on a field — but the level of competition is just as high.
Getting started with esports betting at bb66 belt is straightforward. Create an account, deposit a minimum of ৳300 via bKash or Nagad, and choose a match from your preferred game. Each match offers multiple markets — not just the match winner, but also map scores, kill counts, and more.
For first-timers, the advice is to start with a familiar game and bet small amounts. Esports betting is a form of entertainment — it is best not to treat it as a profession or a source of income. Learn about responsible gaming and stay within your limits.
The Most Popular Markets in Esports Betting
bb66 belt offers several types of esports betting markets. Below are six popular markets explained, each with a simple example.
Match Winner
The simplest market — pick which team will win the match. Example: Team A vs Team B; if you pick Team A and they win, your bet is successful.
Most PopularMap Handicap
A map handicap is applied to the stronger team. Example: if Team A has a -1.5 map handicap, they must win 3-0 or 3-1. This market is especially popular in CS2 and Dota 2.
CS2 · Dota 2Total Maps
A bet on how many maps will be played in the match. Example: in a best-of-3 series, you can bet over or under 2.5 — meaning whether the match ends in two maps or goes to three.
Over/UnderFirst Kill / First Blood
A bet on which team or player gets the first kill of the match. Example: in a CS2 match between Team A and Team B, if any player from Team A gets the first kill, this bet wins.
CS2 · ValorantTournament Champion
Place a bet before a tournament begins on which team will win the title. Example: picking Team A as the winner before a Dota 2 tournament starts.
Outright BetPlayer Performance
An over/under bet on how many kills a specific player will get in a match. Example: whether a player in a Valorant match will get more than 15 kills.
Valorant · LOLHow to Read Decimal, Fractional and American Odds
Three odds formats are used on esports betting platforms. Each format expresses the same probability in a different way. Which one is easier to read varies from person to person — but understanding all three makes it easier to calculate returns before placing a bet.
Example 1 — The Same Odds in Three Formats
Say you place a ৳500 bet on Team A winning. The odds for this bet are written like this in three formats:
| Format | Odds | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 3.00 | Stake × 3 = total return |
| Fractional | 2/1 | ৳2 profit for every ৳1 staked |
| American | +200 | ৳200 profit on a ৳100 stake |
Betting ৳500 on Team A — if they win, you get back ৳1,500 (৳1,000 profit + ৳500 original stake). If Team A loses, the ৳500 is gone.
Example 2 — Odds for a Favourite
Team B is a strong team — they are more likely to win, so the odds are lower. In this case:
| Format | Odds | Return on ৳500 bet |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 1.80 | ৳900 (৳400 profit) |
| Fractional | 4/5 | ৳900 (৳400 profit) |
| American | -125 | Negative odds mean you need to stake 125 to win 100 |
In American format, a minus sign (-) means that team is the favourite — you stake that amount to win 100.
bb66 belt shows decimal format by default. You can select your preferred format in settings. All odds are examples only — actual match odds will differ.
Pre-Match vs Live Betting — What Is the Difference
In esports, you can bet in two ways — before a match starts and while it is in progress. Each approach has its own advantages and limitations.
Pre-Match Betting
Bets are placed before the match begins. Odds are relatively stable at this point and there is more time to analyse. It is easier to make a decision after reviewing team form, lineup changes, or results from previous matches.
- More time to analyse
- Odds are relatively stable
- Suitable for beginners
Live Betting (In-Play)
Bets are placed in real time while the match is ongoing. Odds change every moment — if a team wins the first map or performs strongly, their odds shorten. This market suits those who can make quick decisions.
- Decide based on how the match is going
- Rapidly changing odds
- Preferred by experienced bettors
Tip: Watching the match live makes it easier to make decisions during live betting. Platforms like bb66 belt Bet show live stats and a scoreboard to help you decide.
